With the failing economy a lot of families have to cut back on extra expenses. Many people would consider getting Nutrition Counseling a luxury, but it is not, it is a necessity. With the rising costs of healthcare, due to obesity and diabetes, it will cost us more to treat the problems than to prevent them. So please take the step today to get control of your health and prevent further damage to your body.
The following is a complete overview of "The Healthier You" nutrition services and fees.
 
Nutrition Analysis $195.00
The Nutrition analysis can be used in combination with the weight management program, Diabetic counseling, or by itself for you own personal interest. The following is included in the Nutrition Analysis.
  • Initial meeting with you in person to discuss your concerns/goals (please allow 1 hour or more for initial visit).
  • Collect height and weight data for assessing calorie needs
  • A complete health history (diabetes, high blood pressure, medications...) and a three day food intake record. (downloadable forms are found under the weight management link)
  • Data collected will be analyzed; you will receive a packet containing your current calorie intake along with the calorie intake that you should be on, which will include a personalized carbohydrate, protein and fat ratio customized just for you. You will also receive information on any nutrition deficiencies you may have i.e.; calcium, iron, B12 etc...and suggestions for replenishing them.
  • A 47 page booklet titled "Exchange lists for Weight Management", demonstrates proper portion sizes for weight loss.
  • On completion of your analysis I will meet with you again to go over our findings and discuss further plans and goals.
Optional:  $25.00 additional Pantry/kitchen tour, discuss foods you currently have in your cupboardand suggest lower fat options.
 
A $50.00 deposit is required at the time of the first meeting; the remainder will be collected when the completed analysis is delivered.
 
Individual Weight Management- $60.00 per Hour
After your nutrition analysis is complete it is important to meet once a week in the first month, every other week following, then a maintenance visit once a month, unless more visits are needed. The following will be included in each session.
  • Review goals made during nutrition analysis, if goals were met make new ones for the following week, if goals were not met then we will review reasons and make new goals.
  • Weekly weights (to keep a record of progress)
  • Discuss issues or problems concerning diet (temptations, cravings)
  • Review exercise plan, is it working? Is it too hard/too easy? (cant do it )
  • Discuss meal plans, meal replacements
  • Access to the Healthier You website
  • E-mail contact for questions and concerns.
 
Diabetic Meal planning- $60.00 per Hour
 The diabetic meal plan sessions include the following;
  • Calculate carbohydrate needs based on your current calorie needs
  • Teach you how to count carbohydrates through visuals using food models to represent accurate portion sizes along with meal planning
  • A 64 page booklet titled "Choose Your Foods", exchange lists for diabetes
  • Learn how to eat out in restaurants, and make good choices 
  • What foods to limit and which to include on a diabetic diet
  • Access To the Healthier you website for meal plans, and also recipes through the virtual store
  • E-mail support for questions and support
 
 
4 Week  Group Weight loss/Nutrition class;   $140.00
 
This is a PowerPoint class based on the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Group classes are once a week for approximately one hour for a total of 4 weeks, please call for available days and times, location will be announced prior to class.
